Concord Restaurants – Concord is quickly gaining a reputation for having some of the best restaurants in the Charlotte area.
They have a number of dedicated family establishments that have been passed down through generations, as well as some newer eateries that offer unique twists on everyone’s favorite dishes.
Here are the top ten best restaurants in Concord, without further ado.
1. The Smoke Pit
This is one of the newest restaurants on our list (it opened in 2014), but many people consider it to be one of the best in the Concord area. This BBQ joint is a true meat lover’s paradise, with a menu brimming with melt-in-your-mouth meats and sandwiches. They’ve already amassed a slew of accolades and awards.
Their hickory-smoked pulled pork, sweet potato fries, and fried okra are truly outstanding. Except for Sunday, the Smoke Pit is open every day.
2. The Speedway Club
If you enjoy NASCAR and good food, you must visit The Speedway Club Restaurant, which serves delicious food and has an incredible view of the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The fish and grits, which includes blackened salmon with orange hominy grits and seasonal vegetables; the Cherry Coca-Cola beef brisket served with succotash and roasted potatoes; and the rigatoni Pomodoro with a variety of veggies are among their most popular dishes. They serve lunch Monday through Friday and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. Membership is required, but the first visit is free.
3. Aroma Indian Cuisine
If you’re looking for truly authentic Indian cuisine, go to Aroma Indian Cuisine.
Highlights include Dahi vada, or fried lentils served with a special yogurt sauce; paneer burji dosa, a rice crepe filled with cheese, mustard seeds, and curry leaves; and goat korma, or curry. Aroma is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.
4. The Gateway To Athens
If you like Greek food or have never had truly authentic Greek food, you must visit this restaurant. Locals and visitors alike rave about their dine-in and carry-out options. Their souvlaki and house-made tzatziki sauce are absolutely delicious!
Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch on Sunday.
5. Gianni’s Trattoria
If you want to go somewhere that only locals know about, go to Gianni’s Trattoria. They are located in the historic district of Concord. Chef Heather Stadler sources the freshest and most seasonal ingredients from local farmers and distributors, as well as unique items imported from Italy, to create a memorable meal. The menu has a lot of great options, from Mama’s classic meatballs and spaghetti to the oven-roasted duck breast with a Black Mission fig-orange port wine reduction sauce, roasted potatoes, and seasonal veggies.
Breakfast time serves breakfast daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it’s some of the best in Concord (besides what your mom cooks up).
From savoury delights to sweet delights, the menu has something for everyone. For breakfast or lunch, try the breakfast burger, which consists of a six-ounce burger topped with cheese and an egg. They also serve incredible banana fosters pancakes and incredible biscuits smothered in milk or sausage gravy – oh, and you must try their feta omelet.
7. Ellie’s Coffee Shoppe
Yes, we’ve included a coffee shop on our list, but trust us when we say their food is delicious!
Ellie’s menu is bursting with tasty sweet and savory options, with something to suit many tastes, making it ideal for that late lunch or early dinner gathering spot with a few friends. Pancakes, French toast, and various pastries such as cinnamon rolls, scones, muffins, and more are always good choices for something sweet. Savory breakfast options include croissant sandwiches with eggs, cheese, and your choice of breakfast meat, as well as biscuits and gravy. The lunch menu features grilled sandwiches, Mexican plates, paninis, salads, and vegetarian options.
8. Havana Carolina Cafe
This is a truly family-owned establishment serving some of the best Cuban sandwiches anywhere in the Carolinas with pork, ham, Swiss, mayo, mustard, and pickles all on Cuban bread, but what’s even better than their Cuban is their locally famous specialty plate called Lechon – it includes roasted pork marinated in mojo sauce and served with rice, black bean potage, fried sweet plantains, and a Cuban dinner roll; and guava cheesecake –
9. 2 Gals Kitchen
2 Gals Kitchen first opened its doors in Concord in 2013. They have a truly one-of-a-kind and charming interior with high ceilings and large windows. The veggie delight sandwich, which includes Havarti cheese and a sweet onion spread, is popular among locals. Their tuna melt with pepper jack cheese is also quite tasty. They are open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
10. Andele! Mexican Restaurant
Andele Mexican Restaurant ranked #10 on our list, is a family-owned restaurant that serves some of the best Mexican food in the region.
They have a vibrant interior with colourful dishes and bowls. One of the best things on the menu is their chori-queso, a creamy mixture of cheese and sausage that goes perfectly with tortilla chips. Try the chilaquiles Mexicanos — corn tortillas with chicken, house sauce, and cheese — or the chile Relleno dinner, and don’t forget to finish with some fried ice cream.
